Balaram Sawant is a passionate fine artist from Belgaum, celebrated for his expressive knife-stroke technique that brings texture, depth, and emotion to every composition. A graduate of Bharati Kala Mahavidyalay, Pune, he has showcased his works at renowned galleries including Balgandharva Kala Dalan, Jahangir Art Gallery, and Nehru Center Art Gallery, Mumbai.
Art has been an inseparable part of my life for as long as I can remember. What began as simple childhood sketches gradually evolved into a lifelong pursuit of creativity and self-expression. Over the years, my journey through colors, textures, and forms has shaped not just my art, but who I am. My works are a reflection of my experiences, emotions, and deep connection with the world around me. I find immense joy in exploring the expressive power of knife strokes, which allow me to bring energy, movement, and texture to each canvas. Every stroke is deliberate — a dialogue between control and spontaneity. This exhibition is a celebration of my journey — a tribute to my dedication, pride, and artistic voice that has matured through years of practice, learning, and exploration. Through my paintings, I hope to evoke emotions that resonate beyond the surface, connecting the viewer to the same sense of wonder that inspires me to create.

Welcome to Balaram Arts, the official online gallery of Balaram Sawant — a contemporary fine artist from Belgaum, India, known for his expressive knife-stroke technique and vibrant compositions.
Art has been part of Balaram’s life since childhood. What began as simple sketches has evolved into a lifelong journey of color, texture, and emotion. Each painting is a reflection of his experiences, memories, and the beauty he finds in everyday life.
At Balaram Arts, every artwork is created by hand — one stroke at a time. The palette knife allows Balaram to sculpt layers of paint, creating depth and texture that bring each subject to life. His style blends realism with impressionistic energy, offering viewers a powerful visual and emotional experience.
Balaram Arts was founded to make fine art more personal — to bring the artist’s studio directly to the viewer. Each painting carries a story, an emotion, and the essence of the artist himself.
“For me, art is not just what I create — it’s a part of who I am.”
— Balaram Sawant
